G. Ellen Jimmerson passed away on May 10, 2018, in Shoreline, Washington.
Ellen was born to William and Anna Cantrell Morey on March 9, 1928, in Sheridan, Montana.
She graduated high school in Estacada, Oregon, at age 17. Three months later in Vancouver, Washington, she married John T. Jimmerson who had seven children that she took on and loved as her own. They had five more children and felt their family was complete.
Ellen worked at Oregon State University for 35 years. She was active in both the Moose Lodge and Eagles Lodge while living in Corvallis.
A childhood dream of visiting all 50 states was finally fulfilled after retirement. She also traveled to Canada, Ireland, Scotland, and England.
Ellen was preceded in death by her parents; her only brother, William Morey; her husband, John; children, Jim, Marvin, Gene, Norman, Bob, Glenn, Margie, and Mary; grandson, John Jimmerson; and granddaughter, Elizabeth Martin.
She leaves behind four children, Judy Van Nice (Stan Duncan) of Shoreline, Washington; Larry Jimmerson (Gema) of Seabrook, Texas; Michael Jimmerson of Baker City, Oregon; and Pat Jimmerson (Debbie) of Lincoln City, Oregon. Also surviving are 16 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, 13 nieces and nephews, and her cousin Elynor McKinnon.
Ellen is dearly loved and will be missed by all.
A memorial service will be held at noon on May 18 at McHenry Funeral Home in Corvallis.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to OHSU Foundation — Layton Aging and Alzheimer’s Disease Center or to Heartland Humane Society.
