Emma E. “Betty” Jones, 87, of Sweet Home died Saturday, Feb. 9, at Avamere Rehabilitation of Lebanon.

Betty was born in Los Angeles, the daughter of Casey and Wilma (Miller) Donoho. She moved to Fruitland, Idaho, as a child and later moved to Seattle. She graduated high school in Seattle and then continued to reside in Seattle working for the Navy.

Betty married Harold Jones on March 15, 1948, in Fruitland. They moved to Oregon in 1953, settling in the Upper Calapooia area of Holley. They moved into Holley in 1977. Betty was a homemaker and later worked over 30 years as an Avon Representative.

Harold preceded her in death on April 12, 2004, and she then moved to Sweet Home.

Betty loved hosting family reunions and gatherings. She also enjoyed gardening, bird watching, reading and winning at playing board games.

She is survived by son and daughter-in-law Daniel and Retta Jones of Sweet Home; daughter and son-in-law Susan and Allen Dodge of Jerusalem, Israel; grandchildren Kenneth Dodge, Mary Dlouhy, Christina Voie and Daniel L. Jones; and 14 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three brothers and four sisters.

A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 16, at Huston-Jost Funeral Home in Lebanon. Private interment will be at Gilliland Cemetery in Sweet Home.
