February 15, 1925 — January 31, 2018
Edith Knudtzon Harrison, a longtime Albany resident, died peacefully of cancer on January 31, at home surrounded by close family members.
Born in 1925 in Montana, Edith was a gifted artist and musician who attended the Cornish School of Fine Arts.
She balanced her life as a loving wife and mother with successful careers in both music (as an accredited piano teacher) and artist (as a book illustrator, professional art teacher, GAPS volunteer art teacher, and member of the Northwest Pastel Society).
She loved the Oregon Coast, hockey and gardening.
Edith is survived by her daughter, Lynn Tylczak; son Brock Harrison; grandson Erik Tylczak; and granddaughter Lesley Tylczak.
Memorial gifts may be made to the Albany Public Schools Foundation.
Aasum-Dufour Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
