Danny Lee Turner, 62, of Jefferson died Dec. 9 at his home surrounded by his family.

He was born in Los Angeles to Billy G. and Lorretta (Brown) Turner. He moved to Jefferson at age 14 and attended Jefferson High School. His family still makes Jefferson their home today.

Danny was a truck driver, rodeo clown, bullfighter, rancher and cowboy. He lived in eastern Oregon for awhile. He came back to Jefferson to help his father-in-law on the farm.

He was a Vietnam veteran. He earned lots of medals during his service.

Danny was a great man. He loved to race in his younger days. His father had a company, Turner and Sons. They did a lot of concrete work throughout Jefferson.

Danny will be missed by many friends, family and his dog.

He is survived by partner Pauline M. Klaffke; brothers Paul, Timmy and B.J.; sisters Karla and April; children Dena, Darren and Mike; grandchildren Elizabeth, AnnMarie, Mike Jr. and Troy; and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Jan. 12 at Talbot Community Church, 3195 Talbot Road S. Food and refreshment will follow in the church hall.

The family would like to thank the Jefferson Fire Department, VA nurse Alison and hospice nurse Rose and Dr. Lear.
