Inez Elizabeth Hanson, 105, of Albany died Sunday at Wynwood of Albany.

Inez was born in Portland to E.T. and Harriet (Dunning) Stafford.

At a very early age, she and her family moved to Seaside where her father operated a fuel and lumber company. She and her younger sister grew up in Seaside and attended school there. Inez attended Oregon Normal School, now Western Oregon University, and taught for a short time in Clatsop County.

Inez married Henry L. Hanson on July 24, 1927. They assumed ownership of Stafford Lumber Company when her father retired from the business. During her retirement years, she wrote a book, "Life on Clatsop" about pioneer life on the Clatsop Plains.

She is survived by two children, David S. Hanson and Barbara I. Steers; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.

Inez was preceded in death by her husband in 1982.

A memorial service will take place in Seaside at a later date.
