Richard David "Dave" Bedard, 81, of Albany died Tuesday at his home.
Dave was born in Nahma, Mich., to Wilford E. and Maxine A. (Marlowe) Bedard. He was raised in Michigan.
In 1946, Dave married Shirley Burt in Gladstone, Mich. They moved to Salem in 1960, and Dave began working in Albany at what became known as Oremet. For a time he worked at Rubitz in Salem before returning to work in Albany. Since 1984, he had lived in Albany.
In the late '80s Dave retired and took up photography. He was a member of the Albany Elks. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Dave is survived by his wife, Shirley; children Mary Parong of Seattle, David Bedard of Las Vegas, James Bedard of Salem, and Ann LeGere of Lakewood, Colo.; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and sister Maxine Bruso of Mount Prospect, Ill.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Jean Blanding.
At the family's request, no services are planned.
