Marion Harding Sekavec, 85, of Scio passed away Tuesday at the Tierra Rose Care Center in Salem.
He was born in Brownell, Kan., the son of Cenek and Marie (Malir) Sekavec. Marion lived most of his life farming in Brownell, moving to Oregon in February 2006. He was always thoughtful of others and was eager to meet new people. He was known to be an honest man and a happy person.
On Feb. 7, 1945, Marion married Eleanor Kohlrus in Ellis, Kan. That marriage ended in 1972. In 1996 he married Natalie Ruble in Great Bend, Kan., and they were together a short while.
Marion is survived by his children, Tom Sekavec of Brownell, Mary Cox of Portland, and John Sekavec of Scio; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Marion was preceded in death by his parents; six brothers; and one sister.
Viewing will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Fisher Funeral Home. A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 14, at the Miller Cemetery in Scio.
