A school threat was reported Tuesday morning at the Santiam Junior/Senior High School in Mill City, according to Linn County Undersheriff Jim Yon, but investigators do not believe there was a risk to public safety.
According to a news release from the Linn County Sheriff's Office, a student found written notes in two books at the school. Both read, "I'm going to shoot up the school 3/9/18."
School officials called the Linn County 911 Center about the notes shortly before 10:30 a.m. Tuesday.
Further investigation revealed a 13-year-old Mill City girl was responsible for the notes. Investigators determined that she did not have firearms in her home, nor did she have access to them.
The investigation continues. The student could face possible disorderly conduct charges when the investigation is complete.
