The forecast on Tuesday calls for a high temperature of 55 degrees and a chance of showers, according to the National Weather Service.

Sounds like a perfect day for some shaved ice.

Kona Ice’s local truck, owned by Nelson Adams, will give away free shaved ice from noon to 2 p.m. on Tuesday at the Albany Miller Paint store, 1350 Pacific Blvd. SE.

The giveaway is part of Kona Ice’s “National Chill Out Day,” which is being promoted across America by the company. The event designed as a stress reliever for adults who have completed their taxes by the deadline.

National Chill Out Day’s motto is “no taxation without relaxation.”

The first 50 customers in Albany also will get a coupon for paint, Adams said.
