SWEET HOME — A 3-foot-long piece of wood that was either thrown or bounced on top of a power line at 18th and Spruce, caused two transformer fuses to blow and power to be lost to 2,300 homes Tuesday morning.

Pacific Power spokesman Tom Gaunnt said the outage started about 6:48 a.m. and by 10:15 a.m. power had been restored to about half of the homes.

Power was restored to the rest by 12:40 p.m.
