Students in the Young Adult Reading class at Albany Options School are asking for the community’s help during a food drive for Fish of Albany.
Students will deliver Fred Meyer grocery bags to various neighborhoods on Thursday, March 1. They plan to pick up filled bags on Tuesday, March 6.
The collection is part of a service learning project addressing the issue of hunger and connected to the book “The Hunger Games,” by Suzanne Collins, which the class is reading.
People who would like to contribute but don’t receive a bag are invited to contact Anna Sokolov, AOS business to school liaison, at 541-967-4563 or firstname.lastname@example.org, or bring donations of nonperishable food items anytime between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. to Albany Options School, 701 19th Ave. S.E.
