Linn-Benton Community College's Our Revolution Club is holding a public forum, "School Safety and Gun Violence," from 2 to 3 p.m. Wednesday, March 7.
The event will be in the college's Fireside Room, 6500 Pacific Blvd. SW, Albany. It is free and open to the public.
The club is holding the forum in the wake of the Feb. 14 shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, but also in memory of dozens of other mass shootings, including one at Umpqua Community College in 2015. The plan is to hold a discussion about possible solutions to gun violence.
Featured speakers include Marcene Olson, LBCC's director of Public Safety and Loss Prevention and LBCC Public Safety Officer Bruce Thompson.
