The Albany Police Department is continuing to seek public help to track down suspects in two related break-ins and a separate elude in the past few days.
The break-ins occurred shortly after 3 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 21, first at Muchas Gracias Mexican restaurant at 2697 Pacific Blvd. SE, and a short time later at Dairy Queen, 2710 Pacific Blvd. SE.
A man in a dark-colored hooded sweatshirt was captured on camera forcing entry into the Mexican restaurant. Police have posted that video on the department's Facebook page, https://www.facebook.com/albanypd/, and have asked for public help in identifying him.
Someone also forced entry through a rear door at the Dairy Queen. Surveillance footage from that break-in has not been released, but police say they believe they are searching for the same suspect in both cases.
Anyone with information about the break-ins is asked to contact the Albany Police Department at 541-917-7680. Callers should reference case 17-14508.
Police also are looking for the male driver and male passenger of a black Volkswagen Jetta GT with a University of Oregon sticker on the right side of the bumper. The driver led officers on a chase through downtown Albany the evening of Christmas, Monday, Dec. 25.
The vehicle in that case was recovered in the area of 13th Avenue and Elm Street the following day. A photo can be seen on the department's Facebook page.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Joe Clausen at 541-917-3237 or email@example.com.
