LINN COUNTY SHERIFF
Hoodoo trespass — A 9 p.m. call Wednesday from the 27400 block of Big Lake Road about a drunk person at Hoodoo Ski Area revealed a young man and his date had gone snowboarding near the closed lodge, and after becoming intoxicated required help. The deputy discovered Jordan Dean, 32, used a wooden sign to bang on a window at the lodge. The window broke, and Dean was cited for criminal mischief and criminal trespassing.
Burglary — 11:44 a.m. Wednesday, 45800 Oak Street. A thief or thieves took a chainsaw, three extension cords, a weed eater, leaf-blower and a generator.
Assaulting a police officer — 2 a.m. Thursday, Albany Station. After officer Ben Hatley approached Anthony Raymond Matney, 30, for loitering at the station, Hatley said Matney became evasive and wouldn't remove his hands from his pockets. Officer Dave Hofmann joined Hatley, and in the ensuing scuffle, Matney kicked Hofmann in the leg. He was arrested for criminal trespassing and assaulting a public safety officer.
