Police Log


Elude — 7:35 a.m. Monday, Old Salem Road. Albany police tried to stop a vehicle that then sped away, but officers called off a chase because of the fog. The department is seeking help in identifying the driver of the vehicle. The vehicle itself was described as a dark green 1996 Toyota Camry, license plate VEX 796.


Vehicle stuck — 5:38 p.m. Monday, intersection of South Williams and Milton streets. Police gave a courtesy ride to a driver after he high-centered his vehicle on railroad tracks on Williams. The driver said he was blinded by bright headlights and became disoriented. while going south on Williams past Elmore. A tow truck removed the vehicle without incident, except for a flat tire, and no one was injured or cited.


Attempt to elude — 10:56 a.m. Friday, McLagan Road. Deputies tried to stop a vehicle whose driver sped away, but then pulled over after a few blocks. Richard Scott Eshbaugh, 44, was taken into custody on outstanding warrants.

Theft — 12:42 p.m. Sunday, 33200 block of Tennessee Road. Four 15-inch trailer tires and wheels were reported stolen from an enclosed trailer at the location. No listed value.

Burglary — 12:48 p.m. Sunday, 32500 block of Dever-Conner Drive. The Dever-Conner Church reported a break-in and several tools stolen, valued at approximately $850.

Theft — 3:23 p.m. Sunday, 39800 block of Mt. Hope Drive. A caller reported pieces stolen from a solar well pump: two solar panels and the accompanying controller. Estimated total loss is more than $1,000.

Injury wreck — 4:36 a.m. Tuesday, intersection of Fish Hatchery Road and Highway 226 west of Scio. Deputies responded to a driver who missed a stop sign at the intersection. The 2009 Ford four-door slid on freezing fog into a ditch on the west side of the highway. Driver Austin Feskens, 23, of Mill City was unhurt. His passenger, Cleve Clark, 42, also of Mill City, was taken to Samaritan Lebanon Community Hospital for treatment of back pain.
