People arrested are innocent unless proven otherwise in court. Initial charges often change as a case progresses.


Burglary — 8:05 a.m. Thursday, Mid-Willamette Precut, 38054 Jefferson-Scio Drive. A storage area was broken into and electric mill motors worth $8,500 were stolen.

Theft warrant arrest — 5 p.m., Linn County Jail. Thomas Speer Corsey, 69, of Albany, was arrested on a warrant for charges of three counts of first-degree theft and a charge of second-degree theft. He was released from jail at 7:26 p.m. and scheduled for a first court hearing on the case on Feb. 26. 

Domestic assault arrest — 9:27 p.m. Thursday, 300 block Macy Street, Harrisburg. A deputy responded to a report of a male and female fighting. The female who called 911 said to hurry to the address and hung up. Jesse David Sawyer, 32, of Harrisburg, was arrested on charges of felony fourth-degree assault (domestic violence), two counts of strangulation, interference with making a report and harassment. His initial bail was set at $60,000.

Identity theft arrest — 10:30 a.m. Friday, Linn County Jail. Jacob Miley Butler, 33, of Lebanon, was arrested on warrants for charges of identity theft, second-degree theft and parole violation. He was scheduled to appear in court on Feb. 18.


Assault warrant arrest — 3:15 p.m. Thursday, Linn County Jail. Joshua Clinton Edwards, 24, of Lebanon, was arrested on a warrant on charges of two counts of felony fourth-degree assault (domestic violence).

Racketeering arrest — 12:31 p.m. Friday, Linn County Jail. Thomas Fresno Webster, 38, of Lebanon, was arrested on a warrant for a charge of racketeering. His initial bail was set at $75,000, and he was scheduled for a first appearance in court in the case on Feb. 18.


Theft — 3:52 p.m. Wednesday,1100 block Ironwood Street. A woman reported that $6,700 worth of her property had been stolen. A report was taken about the theft.
