Arrest — 9:25 a.m. Wednesday, 100 block of Southwest 10th Avenue. A 1997 Chevrolet Cavalier was reported stolen. Police arrested Melissa Sue Shirer, 34, on a charge of unauthorized use of a vehicle in connection with the case.

Arrests — 11:51 a.m. Wednesday, 100 block of Opal Street Northeast. Amanda Fayelynn Long, 28, was charged with delivery of heroin and two counts of possession of heroin, and Nicholas Allen Kadwell, 21, was charged with possession of heroin.


Disturbance, arrest — 2:15 p.m. Wednesday, 400 block of Third Avenue Southwest. Deputies responded to a report of a man who entered the Linn County Mental Health offices, allegedly yelling, making stabbing motions with a pen and throwing a phone against a window, breaking it. The man left the office and was walking toward traffic. A deputy caught his arm and told him he needed to stay and the man allegedly swung and hit the deputy. Monty Caleb Dickson, 26, was arrested on charges of menacing, resisting arrest, assaulting a public safety officer, second-degree disorderly conduct and second-degree criminal mischief.

Vehicle recovered — 1:20 p.m. Wednesday, 41100 block of Rodgers Mountain Loop. Deputies recovered a 15-passenger van they traced to an owner in Corvallis who had not realized it was missing. The owner found he was also missing a second van, and a report of a stolen vehicle has been filed. The first van was returned to the owner.
