A Corvallis woman was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries after a collision on Highway 20 between Corvallis and Albany Friday afternoon.
Samantha Graves, 26, was driving west in a Chevrolet Trail Blazer about 3:10 p.m. when she swerved to avoid a 2003 Chevrolet ¾-ton pickup that was trying to turn east onto the road from Independence Highway, according to information from the Benton County Sheriff’s Office.
The Blazer went off the highway and struck an electrical box, coming to rest in a ditch on the north side of the road. Graves, the vehicle’s only occupant, was taken by ambulance to Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center in Corvallis.
The driver of the pickup, 31-year-old Paul Genstler of Albany, was not hurt.
Medics from the Corvallis and Albany fire departments responded to the incident, and the crash remains under investigation by the Benton County Sheriff’s Office.
Graves was in good condition Friday evening, according to a hospital spokesperson.
