A Blodgett man died in a crash near Eddyville on Saturday morning after apparently crashing his pickup off a logging road and sending it tumbling down a ravine.
Randy Scott Perkins was 53.
At about 12:55 p.m. on Saturday, Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to a vehicle crash on a logging spur road off Norton Road. A blue 1999 Toyota Tacoma was several hundred feet down a ravine and reportedly occupied by one male, according to a news release.
Deputies and other emergency responders arrived on scene and began assessing the terrain. Deputy Bruce McGuire, the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office Search and Rescue coordinator, deployed an unmanned aerial system to fly to the vehicle’s location and evaluating access points for personnel.
Members of the Toledo Fire Department then reached the vehicle and confirmed the sole occupant was deceased.
A Sheriff’s Office collision reconstructionist was summoned to the scene to assist in the investigation. No foul play is suspected at this time.
