Stray lawn ornaments - An employee of the EZ Stop Market & Deli, 190 N. Third St., called police Saturday morning saying an array of lawn ornaments "just showed up" in front of the store sometime during the night. The items numbered about a dozen and included figures of cats, a chicken, birds and bird houses. A deputy asked nearby residents but none said they were missing any yard art.
Injury crash on Lickskillet - An Albany woman was driving north on Lickskillet Road returning home from the store at about 10:25 a.m. Saturday when the pickup she was driving went off the road and crashed into a farm fence. Cynthia R. Tandy, 52, had to be extricated through the rear of the cab and across the open pickup bed and was transported by a REACH helicopter to Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center in Corvallis. Her injuries were reported as minor.
Tandy, who was alone in the pickup, told a deputy she was unsure why the red Ford Ranger left the road.
