The public is invited to the Boys & Girls Club of Albany at 5 both tonight and Thursday to see a student production of, "Food is Cool! The Musical."

Admission is free. The play features some 25 children in kindergarten through middle school as part of the cast and crew. Mid-valley schools and music teachers helped create the production.

Written and directed by Iris Carrasco, nutrition educator for the Oregon State University Extension Service in Linn County, the play promotes good health through nutrition and physical activity.

"Basically, it's about how kids are surrounded by food choices all day, and they have to make educated decisions," Carrasco said. "With a little bit of knowledge, you can make good decisions for the future."

For more information, call the Boys & Girls Club at 541-926-6666.
