An Albany man was arrested by police on Sunday after allegedly photographing up the dress of a waitress taking his order at Sweet Waters Family Restaurant.
Anthony Duane Greer, 50, was arrested on a charge of invading personal privacy. He was booked into the Linn County Jail and released.
Greer worked at Sweet Waters, and was off duty at the time of the incident, according to an Albany Police Department report.
The 26-year-old waitress reported the incident to a supervisor.
Greer has since been fired.
In an interview Friday, Greer said that he was showing his digital camera to a friend at the establishment, and forgot it was on.
“I accidentally did something I shouldn’t have done, but I don’t think my job shouldn’t have been taken away,” he said.
“I gave her the opportunity to (erase the photos) so I couldn’t look at them,” he added.
The waitress said that Greer took photographs of her on purpose.
“I felt very violated, and he thought it was so funny,” she added.
She said Greer told her he didn’t know how to erase the photos, so she took the camera, removed the images, and stormed away crying.
Greer is scheduled to appear in court on June 26.
