Hosting overnight guests in your home can provide wonderful memories, and stories you share for years. But a cranky guest with a neck crick from your lumpy sofa bed may provide more horror stories than happy ones. If you want your guests to stay a little longer and sleep a lot better, these quick fixes can make your sofa bed more comfortable.
1) Plenty of Pillows
Most of us haul the old, flat pillows out of our closet for guests, but a variety of comfortable pillows can provide them with a much better night of sleep. You don’t have to break the bank for great guest pillows. Down alternative is a more affordable option than down, and can be just as comfortable for guests who prefer softer pillows. This 2-pack comes in at just $25. For guests who like more support, try a memory foam pillow. This affordable option uses gel memory foam to keep the head cool.
2) Try a Mattress Topper
If your sofa bed mattress has seen better days, a mattress topper can save the day without a huge investment. This 2-inch memory foam mattress topper has five body zones to maximize comfort, and is infused with lavender to promote relaxation. It comes in twin to California king, and all sizes run under $60.
3) Provide Extra Blankets
It’s difficult to sleep in an unfamiliar environment, especially when you’re cold. Be sure to leave out extra blankets for your guests so they can add or remove bedding for their comfort. This super fuzzy Sherpa throw blanket is perfect for all seasons, and can be machine washed and tumble dried after your guests go home.
