Sweet Home United Methodist Church recently purchased a new commercial-grade kitchen range, thanks to two grants and many donations.
The church received a grant of $3,600 from the Oregon Community Foundation Robert M. Stafrin Fund. This gift, along with a grant from the Sweet Home Community Foundation and private donations, helped the church purchase the range, which features 10 top elements and two ovens. The range was delivered Nov. 29, and installation was completed in time for dinner preparation on Dec. 1.
The church serves a community meal called Manna at 5 p.m. Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays in its dining room. All are invited to come see the new range and join in the meal. The church is at 345 Sixth Ave. in Sweet Home.
