Introduction series on Baha'i faith planned
The Albany Baha'i community will present the first in a series of artistic introductions to key concepts of the Baha'i Faith and its efforts to build unity in the world on Saturday, Oct. 17 at 7 p.m.
The "musical fireside" will be at the home of Randall and Linda Dighton.

Baha'is celebrate Birth of the Bab
Albany Baha'is will celebrate the Birth of the Bab at 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 19, at Stoneybrook Village Clubhouse in Corvallis.
The observance will include The Unity Choir, a brief introduction, a new video presentation, story-telling, and refreshments.

United Methodist women plan potluck
The United Methodist Women will meet for a potluck lunch at noon Wednesday, Oct. 21 in the fellowship hall at the First United Methodist Church, 1115 28th. Ave.S.W. in Albany.
The program will be "World Thank Offering."
Support group for single parents to meet
A Christian faith-based educational support group for single parents will be from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Mondays, Oct. 19 to Nov. 9, at Willamette Community Church, 420 Third Ave. S.E., Albany.
Cost is $55 per family and includes dinner, child care, class and a workbook.

Albany Mennonite sets Peace Theology seminar
Peace Theology 2009 will begin at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 23, at the Albany Mennonite Church, 3405 Kizer Ave. N.E.
The seminar will continue at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 24.
The guest speaker is Dr. James Brenneman, president of Goshen College and an Old Testament scholar.
Registration is $15 per person or $25 per couple and includes lunch on Saturday.

Presbyterian women plan noon luncheon
The Presbyterian Women will meet for a noon luncheon on Tuesday, Oct. 20, at Calvin Presbyterian Church, 1736 NW Dixon St., Corvallis.
All members of both churches are welcome and the charge will be $4 at the door.
The Youth Staff of First Presbyterian, Wendy Tegan and Bryan Bliss will present the program.
Babysitting will be available by calling the church office at (541) 753-2228 by the Friday preceding the luncheon.
Knox Brothers to sing at live recording concert
The Knox Brothers and Grace Bible Fellowship, 33990 McFarland Road, Tangent, invites everyone to a Knox Bros "live recording" concert at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct 22.
Admission is free and all are invited.
Oak Creek Christian Center hosts illusionist
Illusionist Scott Wolf will perform at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 23, at the Oakcreek Christian Center, 5775 Columbus S.E., Albany.
Wolf has performed in several countries on five continents around the world for thousands of people.

St. Thomas to hold annual breakfast
St. Thomas Catholic Church will have their annual harvest breakfast from 8 a.m. to noon Sunday, Oct. 25, at St. Thomas Hall, Marion and Third St., Jefferson.
They will serve ham or sausage, eggs, pancakes, rolls, applesauce, coffee and juice.
Breakfast is $5.50 for adults, $3.50 for children under 12 and $16 for a family.
