The famous children's book "Where's Waldo?" and its famed one-named character return to downtown Corvallis businesses with a special event for kids during July. People who spot him can win prizes, including stickers, book coupons, gift certificates and more.
Waldo figures will be hidden for children to find in 23 different businesses, including Grass Roots Books and Music, American Dream Pizza, The Inkwell Home Store, New Morning Bakery, and many others.
Those who wish to participate can pick up a "Find Waldo Local in Corvallis!" passport at Grass Roots, 227 S.W. Second St., with names of all participating sites, and get their passport stamped or signed for each Waldo they find. The first 100 Waldo seekers to get their passports stamped or signed at 10 or more sites can bring the passports back to Grass Roots to collect prizes.
This year, participants can also #ColorWaldoAndWin, when they share a completed coloring sheet of Waldo on Instagram. They will be entered in a drawing to be one of five winners of a prize pack. Those who collect stamps or signatures at 18 or more businesses will be entered into a grand prize drawing at 1:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 1, at Grass Roots for the top prize, a six-volume set of "Waldo" books.
There is no charge for the event, and the hunt lasts the entire month. For more information, call Grass Roots at 541-754-7668.
