"Languages of Nature," an exhibit of images featuring the beauty of nature, is on display in the Little Gallery at Oregon State University through June 14.
A reception to celebrate to the exhibit's opening will be held Thursday from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. in the gallery, 210 Kidder Hall, 2000 SW Campus Way, Corvallis. It is free.
The exhibit features the work of Portland artist Renée Zangara and David Maddison, a professor in the integrative biology department at Oregon State University. Zangara uses color, shape and form to create almost abstract work to represent her feelings and observations. Her work has been exhibited nationally and is featured in many collections including the Portland Art Museum. Maddison, who teaches biological illustration among other courses, creates images that are photo-like and capture intricate details.
The Little Gallery is open 8 a.m. to noon and 1 to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
