South Albany High School Theater Arts presents the classic American comedy "You Can't Take it With You" 7 p.m. May 11, 12 and 14, and 2 p.m. May 13, at the Elizabeth Bentley Theater, 3705 SE Columbus St. SE, Albany.

The production follows the Sycamores, your average collection of snake-hunting, play-writing, fireworks-making, xylophone-playing, bad-dancing, toga-modeling family, living under the oft-bemused eye of Grandpa Martin Vanderhof.

Alice Sycamore spends her days working as a secretary on Wall Street. Worlds collide when she gets engaged to Tony Kirby Jr., son of Wall Street tycoon Anthony Kirby. When the Kirbys arrive 24 hours earlier than their scheduled dinner party, the two families fail to see eye-to-eye, putting the budding marriage in jeopardy.

The cast includes senior Ethan Faulkner as Martin “Grandpa” Vanderhof, senior Drew May as Penny Sycamore, sophomore Emma Butler as Alice Sycamore, and Nathan Greensweight as Mr. Anthony Kirby Jr. South Albany Theater Arts Director Benjamin Sell directs.

Tickets are $8 for adults and $5 for students and seniors and can be purchased at the door or online at
