ALBANY — The Linn-Benton Community College men's basketball team outlasted Southwestern Oregon 90-86 in overtime Wednesday in an NWAC South Division game at the Activity Center.
Cooper Getsfrid had 20 points, Bailey Evers 17 points and Taylor Jensen 15 points and 13 rebounds to lead the Roadrunners (15-6, 5-3).
SWOCC forced overtime with a late basket that tied the score 76-76 at the end of regulation. LBCC outscored SWOCC 10-6 in the final minute of overtime to secure the win.
LBCC hosts Portland Community College at 4 p.m. Saturday in its next game.
ALBANY — The Roadrunners fell to SWOCC in overtime, 76-73. SWOCC scored the go-ahead points with 45 seconds to play and LBCC missed on several opportunities to tie or take the lead.
Breanna Bronson had 18 points and 17 rebounds and Madeline Oakden had 22 points and seven assists to lead the Roadrunners (7-13, 2-6). Kelsie Henry added 10 points and six rebounds and Melissa Thielman had 14 points and four steals.
"We didn't play well in overtime, we didn't make enough stops," LBCC coach Deb Herrold said. "Five of our players played more than 30 minutes and I think we just ran out of gas in overtime."
Regulation ended 63-63 after a tying free throw by Thielman with 34 seconds remaining. SWOCC missed a potential game-winning shot in the closing seconds.
LBCC hosts Portland at 2 p.m. Saturday in its next game.
