RENO, Nev. — Redshirt senior Amarveer Dhesi won the heavyweight title on Sunday at the 2017 Reno Tournament of Champions.

Dhesi, who hadn't competed for the Beavers since his fifth-place finish at the 2016 NCAA championships, took home the crown in the heavyweight division going 5-0 on the day. Dhesi defeated J. Heino of Campbell University by decision, 5-3, for the title.

Oregon State finished in fourth place with 96 points. Bob Coleman's fourth-place finish didn't count towards the team score as he competed unattached.

Redshirt junior 125-pounder Ronnie Bresser took home fourth place in his first event back, going 3-2. Bresser medically forfeited his third-place bout, but picked up three falls in his first three matches of the tournament.

Redshirt senior 141-pounder Jack Hathaway went 5-2 on his way to a sixth-place finish. He had four-straight bonus wins in the consolation bracket; two pins and two technical falls.

Coleman competed unattached for Oregon State and ended the day in fourth place at 184. Coleman went 3-2 on the day before dropping an 11-6 decision in the third-place bout.

Redshirt junior 197-pounder Corey Griego finished 4-1 and in third place. Griego began the day with three-straight falls.
