BOONE, N. C. — The Oregon State wrestling team opened the dual-meet season on Saturday by splitting matches against Duke and Appalachian State at the Mountaineer Duals at ASU’s Varsity Gym.

The 15th-ranked Beavers (1-1) defeated Duke 22-19 in their opening dual but then were upended 25-15 by the host Mountaineers.

Senior Joey Delgado (149) won by pin and freshman Devan Turner, senior Joey Palmer and junior Abraham Rodriguez all won by decision against Appalachian State.

The Beavers open their home dual season against Michigan at noon on Nov. 20.
