Oregon State setter Kylee McLaughlin was named as the Pac-12 freshman of the week for the second week in a row on Monday.
McLaughlin directed a diverse attack for the Beavers’ offense leading them to a weekend sweep of the Washington schools, including a five-set thriller over the then-No. 10 Huskies.
McLaughlin was effective spreading the offense around with four different OSU players recording double-digit kills and added a career-high six of her own against the Huskies.
Against the Cougars, McLaughlin helped three more players to double-digit kills in the Beavers’ four-set win.
McLaughlin’s award is the 11th Pac-12 freshman of the week in OSU history and her third of the season.
She is the third player in OSU history to earn multiple freshman of the week awards, joining Mary-Kate Marshall, who earned five in 2014, and Arica Nassar, who was a two-time selection in 2011
The Beavers host No. 19 UCLA at 1 p.m. Wednesday and No. 24 Oregon at 7 p.m. Friday, a match that will be televised on Pac-12 Oregon.
