STANFORD, Calif. — The Oregon State softball team belted two homers and defeated Stanford 4-1 on Friday in a Pac-12 Conference game.

Missy Nunes hit a two-run shot and Hope Brandner added a solo homer to pace the Beavers (22-17, 5-8). Jessica Garcia tripled and had an RBI, and McKenna Arriola doubled and scored.

Pitcher Mariah Mazon struck out five and stymied the Cardinal on five hits while evening her record at 10-10. She lost the shutout in the seventh inning.

The teams resume the series at 5 p.m. Saturday; Sunday's finale is set for noon. Both games will be televised by the Pac-12 Network.
