Mari Nishiura has signed a Financial Aid Agreement to join the Oregon State women’s golf program, coach Dawn Shockley announced Monday.
Nishiura, a native of Mililani, Hawaii, is transferring to Oregon State after playing her freshman season at the University of Nevada.
She joins Amanda Minni from Delta, British Columbia and Ellie Slama from Salem, Ore., as newcomers heading into the 2017-18 season.
Nishiura had a sensational freshman season at Nevada, as she played in all 11 events and set the single-season school record with a scoring average of 74.20. She also led the team in birdies (72) and pars (340), and fired a career-best 70 in three different rounds.
