BOULDER, Colo. — The opening round of the Pac-12 men’s golf championship had a frost delay and a snow delay before play was eventually suspended due to darkness on Friday.
The Beavers were one of six teams to get both rounds in and finished the first day of the 72-hole tournament with a 52-over 376-376—752 at the par-70, 7,129-yard Boulder Country Club.
Four groups will finish the second round early Saturday morning, and the third round will begin at 9 a.m.
Freshman Kyosuke Hara was solid in his first Pac-12 championship, shooting a 6-over 74-72—146, to lead Oregon State. Junior Jonas Liebich and sophomore Trevor Yu each finished with an 11-over 151, as Liebich posted scores of 78-73 and Yu went 77-74.
Senior Kevin Murphy wrapped up the first day with a 13-over 75-78—153, freshman Shawn Lu was a stroke back with a 14-over 72-82—154 and senior Calum Hill shot a 19-over 80-79—159.
