A 19-year-old Corvallis woman was extricated from her car early Wednesday morning after falling asleep on Highway 20 and crashing into some trees, officials said.
The woman was taken to Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries, said Sgt. Dave Peterson of the Benton County Sheriff’s Office.
The crash took place about 4:10 a.m. on Highway 20 in between Hyak County Park and Northwest Scenic Drive, Peterson said. The woman had been traveling eastbound when she fell asleep and crashed, he said.
Members of the Albany Fire Department cut the roof from the woman’s car in order to remove her, Peterson said. There was no one else in the car.
