A man was seriously injured in a stabbing Tuesday night inside a nail salon in the Timberhill Shopping Center, police said.
The suspect has been apprehended, said Lt. Dan Duncan. He has been identified as 49-year-old Than Duy Kim of Albany. Duncan declined to release the victim’s name, but said he is a 50-year-old man. Kim and the victim knew one another, Duncan said.
He said the victim was taken to Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.
Police were called to the salon at 8:13 p.m. Tuesday, Duncan said. He said a woman inside the salon called authorities. Kim had allegedly already fled the scene. Police in Albany arrested Kim later in the evening and he was booked into the Benton County Jail, Duncan said.
Police arrested Kim for one count of first-degree assault, he said.
Prosecutors have not yet filed official charges in the case. Benton County District Attorney John Haroldson said his office is reviewing the police investigation. He believes prosecutors will file charges in the case on Thursday. Once prosecutors file charges, Kim's case will be set for arraignment.
The salon at 2321 NW Kings Blvd. was cordoned off with crime scene tape Wednesday morning.
