Running Errands by Erin is a new Corvallis-based concierge and personal assistant service that seeks to make life easier for busy professionals and residents who can’t get around town very easily, such as senior citizens.

Owner Erin Hughes will go grocery shopping, take dogs to the veterinarian, pick up the dry cleaning, deliver packages to the post office or drop off library books.

And with Christmas coming up, she’ll even brave crowds of holiday shoppers to get that special gift at the store.

“This town has grown so much, and my hope is people are embracing things that are offered in bigger cities,” Hughes said. “This is something that is a huge thing in big cities.”

Though Hughes lives in Corvallis, she’ll help residents throughout the mid-Willamette Valley.

Some of Hughes’ clients are single, professional mothers who would rather spend quality time with their children than driving around town doing errands themselves.

She hopes to get small business clients, as well.

Running Errands by Erin started in July. “It took a few months to get it going, because if I wanted to do it, I wanted to do it professionally,” Hughes said.

She’s licensed and insured to protect her clients.

She also has grocery delivery order forms, which are kept so repeat clients don’t have to constantly list their preferences, as well as a cooler in the back of her Subaru station wagon.

Hughes is a 1986 graduate of Crescent Valley High School, though she was known as Erin Hope in her younger years.

Running Errands by Erin generally operates from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday through Friday, but she’ll also help clients on the weekend and after hours.
